In August 2015 the Museum of the Imperial Academy of Arts with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg presented an exhibition of the famous Californian abstractionist Shane Guffogg. The exhibition with the name "Observer is the observed" from 73 paintings and 3 sculptures from Venetian glass, lasted 1 month and accepted more than 5000 visitors.

The organizers of the exhibition were representative of the artist - Patrick Carpentier and international art agency Marika Parsadanelli.
